Carved Taonga - Kākano

Made in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington by uku artist Stevei Houkāmau.   

Kākano is a seed, kernel, or egg, an object of potential and hope. Created using black uku/clay with Houkāmau's distinctive carved surface designs that echo tā moko.

The kākano itself is 65 x 50mm and the necklace is 410mm long including the cord.
